If you haven’t already heard, the largest collection of microcars ever assembled is going to auction tomorrow! Bruce Weiner has spent many years traveling the globe in pursuit of the most unlikely of collector cars and he has housed them in their own museum. We are actually sort of sad to see the collection broke up, but it could be a good opportunity to buy a late Valentine’s Day gift for your sweetheart! Take a look at RM’s catalog and let us know which ones you would go for.
I’m sure a few of you are already in Scottsdale or are headed there today for the big auctions. Unfortunately none of the BF staff can make it, but we have still been looking through the catalogs and dreaming. There are some very significant cars coming to market and even a few barn finds. Here are our top picks from each auction house.
Well, 2012 is almost over and it has been a great year for us here at Barn Finds. We have featured some interesting cars over the past twelve months. That has been a lot of fun, but what really made it special was getting to read everyone’s comments. All of our loyal readers are what make Barn Finds so great and we just want to thank you. We consider you all friends. Have a safe and very happy New Year!
Christmas has come and gone, but we still wanted to wish everyone a Happy Holidays. We took a few days off to spend it with family and we hope you were able to do the same. This photo was taken just around the corner from our office. The guy has about 20 old trucks strewn around the lot so there may be a few barn finds in the making there. We hope you woke up on Christmas morning and found something special in your own barn. Let us know if Santa brought you a gift with four wheels this year. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from all of us!
Calling all barn find photographers! We are looking for your best shots of forgotten classics. We don’t care if they are of your own car or one in a barn down the road. The only requirement is that the images need to be high quality, interesting, and taken by you. In a few days we will pick the best ones and feature them here on the site and in our upcoming calendar. Email your submissions here and be sure to include a little information about the photo. We are looking forward to seeing what everyone digs out!
If you haven’t voted already, go out and do it! There are some major issues at stake and your voice matters. Cars may be low on the list of importance, but since they are a big part of all our lives, we thought it might be a good idea to discuss how this election could affect our shared interest of the automobile.
A variety of barn finds, yard finds and ran-when-parked finds could be inspected and bid on at the Terry Bennett Collection auction held last weekend in Dover, New Hampshire. Although hard to believe, the large collection of vehicles was amassed by one man over the past twenty years. Walking the auction field revealed curiosity after curiosity, ranging from an assortment of Mini Coopers to a Nissan Skyline rolling chassis. Vintage signs, bicycles and shop manuals were all up for grabs and there were some bargains to be had. Read more »
Over the weekend we made a road trip down to Vail Colorado to take a look at all the cars that participated in the Colorado Grand this year. The event takes participants on a thousand mile journey through the mountains of Colorado. Money raised goes to local charities and after it is all done they have a car show called the Concours d’Non Elegance complete with road grime. Read more »
